About Us

3rd Degree is a fire troup based in Newcastle England, we have been performing under the name 3rd degree since the start of 2007 before that our troup was called the ‘Fire Tribe’

Calum Donald

The founding member of the group. Calum is in charge of bookings and web design

He performs with single and double Fire Staff. His signature move (left) is the ‘Double blindfolded Staff’. Calum also Fire Breathes, Fire Eats, Juggles and uses the Fire Whip

 

 

Charli Durrands

An original member of the group. Charli dreamed up the name 3rd Degree after a rather unsuccessful attempt at a new trick!

He is a poi master but also performs with Staff and the rather unconventional Fire Nun chucks.

His signature move, seen on the fire breathing page is a fire breath into spinning poi producing a formidable vertical jet of fire…an ultimate crowd pleaser J

 

 

Emi Neale  

A New member of 3rd degree for '08 who specializes in a variety of poi techniques and has an OCN level 3 in circus rigging and fire safety.

 

 

Aubrey Dickason

An original member of the group. Aubrey performs with both poi and staff and is an expert in fire breathing

In his spare time Aubrey is at Newcastle university with Caroline doing a medical degree, consequently we have put Aubrey and Caroline in charge of all medical matters of the 3rd degree team!

 

Bryony Casseneli

 Bryony has 3 yrs experience with fire poi she is also a keen user of glow equipment.

 

 

 

Caroline Tait

 A Medical student at Newcastle university, Caroline brings a feminine approach to the fire arts of poi and fire breathing

 

Percussion

3rd degree fire performers go great when mixed with a light percussion instrument, shaken not stirred ; )
