Fire Poi

Poi was originally practiced by the Maori people of New Zealand, to increase flexibility and strength. The word poi means ball in Maori and that is exactly what they are, balls attached to ropes which are held in the hands and swung in various circular patterns.

Modern Fire poi use balls of Kevlar wick and chains not ropes these are swung around the body to make memorizing circular patterns of light to similar to those made by Fire Staffs
